You may remember the post from a few months ago, How do you begin a novel? Anyone who found that interesting (and the comments, particularly Linda's, were enlightening) may get a lot from watching the most recent programme in the arts series Imagine with Alan Yentob: Ian Rankin and the Case of the Disappearing Detective. Filmed here in Edinburgh and up in the north of Scotland during the writing process of the new Rebus novel Standing in Another Man's Grave, it shows how even this most seasoned of writers faces the fear of the blank page.
