Dearest Eudora - [...] we have had such a happy time in London [...] The weather like Rupert Brooke's poem. And all the squares full of flowering trees and daffodils. There were five huge rooms full of Turners at the Tate, a big Constable show, and the original drawings for The Tailor of Gloucester - which drove me half out of my mind with pleasure -
Love from us both,
William Maxwell to Eudora Welty, April 20th., 1976, What there is to say we have said.
I love William Maxwell's enthusiasm and sense of joy; I feel sure he would have applauded this review.
