I've read and love most of Trollope's work, so I think reading him is a good idea Karen.

For me, I WILL read War and Peace this year (and I hope, enjoy it!)

Dark Puss

Can there be any other choice than Proust? Guess I'll have another go sometime soon; I'll be reading it in translation sadly.

Dark Puss

Sarah, do try the new Pevear and Volokhonsky translation. I've read many excellent reviews comparing it most favourably with the earlier work of Garnett and Maude. I'm sorry that I cannot comment on my own experience of the new publication since I have not re-read this book.

Is that "Orley Farm" in the photo? It's my absolutely favorite Trollope novel with a terrific legal plot, a poignant depiction of a faltering middle-aged marriage, and a really delightful cast of secondary characters. Enjoy!

Natalie T.

Trollope is wonderful! I'm planning to read some books that have fallen out of favor but are probably still wonderful, such as "The Forsyte Saga," "The Old Wives Tale," and "The Way of All Flesh".

Cornflower

Well spotted, Karen, it is Orley Farm (a handsome copy which belonged to my grandfather).
