I'm busy choosing the next title for the Book Group to read, and one author I've come up with might just be a bit much for a couple of our number. Anticipating the reaction of Dark Puss and Lindsay to my possible choice, I see them rather as the grouchy Waldorf and Stadler from The Muppets!
If my hitherto close friends are still speaking to me after seeing this, please know the gentle tease is most affectionately meant.
(The book - whatever it is - will be announced soon).
Also on the subject of men (not) reading, have a look at this article!
Oh dear; I can tell it's going to be a girl's "my upbringing was dreadful" guiltfest - otherwise known as miserylit.
But I am grateful for the link to the "men not reading" website - I clearly need any encouragement to open a book that I can get.
Finally evidence of senility setting in - I signed a recent post on War and Peace "Levin" when actually, of course, I meant "Pierre".
Grouch!

Wrong on the first count, Lindsay.
On the second, well, I thought you'd been slacking a bit recently.
As to Pierre, be still my beating heart!

There are a few people whose tail Dark Puss will permit to tweak, and of course Cornflower you are one of them. Let me see if I can guess what nightmarsh book you are going to force me to read. I fear it may involve romance and sentimentality, but I'm sure I'm wide of the mark. If I can get it I'll read it (even if it is by Sackville-West).
Your faithfull cat.

Dark Puss, all I can say about the book for now is that it was the masculine Mr. C. (not known for reading much romance) who suggested the author I'm considering.....

PS
When I first saw your "Levin" signature, my tired eyes read it as "Lenin", and I did think my brain was weakening as that did not compute!
