As if once were not enough, I've been on live radio again, but this time talking about our very own Cornflower Book Group in today's edition of BBC Radio Scotland's Book Café which was devoted to the subject of book groups.
Fellow guests included Lorraine and Nicola from the real, live Colinton Book Group (no cakes for those ladies' get-togethers, just wine!), Morag Nicolson from an enterprising and influential Shetland group and the young members of a unique radio book club, showing that groups come in all forms and for all ages.
I did the hoovering this morning to try to dispel the nerves before I went on air - that's my own carpets I'm talking about, not the BBC's - but now it's all over I'm capable of nothing more taxing than curling up with a cup of coffee and a good book!

Just a quick word on the availability of our January book, Testament by Alis Hawkins: I see that Amazon UK itself has just sold out, but new and used copies are available from their third party sellers, and it is obtainable with free worldwide delivery from The Book Depository.
Congratulations, Karen and thank you for the link.

How very nice to hear your voice, Karen! I didn`t detect any ``nerves`` at all. I am finally finishing the last few pages of Crossing to Safety. It`s a bit too late in the day to leave a comment, but I wanted you to know that I thought it was one of the best written books I`ve read this year. I`m surprised I had never heard of Stegner before. Thanks for another great recommendation!

A most enjoyable radio programme! I will try to catch it again.
I found Testament in our local library (Glasgow); they had several copies as well.

I very much enjoyed your contribution to the Book Café and have found this group as a consequence. I'll lurk & learn while reading Alis Hawkins' Testament.
Many thanks for this ingenious & inspirational site.

I enjoyed listening to all of the talk of books and groups. It was great to hear you and the hoovering must have worked because you didn't sound nervous at all. And, really, how could you be- talking about books and cakes and readers.
