A secluded cottage in the Scottish highlands, three friends "bound by ties of love and betrayal", a short time in which to right wrongs and say what needs to be said. That's the gist of my pre-Christmas reading, The Winter House by Nicci Gerrard.
I haven't read any Nicci Gerrard before, nor her collaborative works (written with her husband) which appear under the name Nicci French, but something about this book appeals, and only one chapter in I'm already held by it.
Oh dear, I think you have discovered my other pseudonym here! DP

Nicci French is one of my favourite writers of psychological suspense. Fantastic. Start with the first one and work your way through them all. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
Merry Christmas to all at Cornflower Mansions and all Cornflower readers too!

It appeals to me too and so I have ordered it from the Book Depository. Another Christmas treat for myself.
Adele, I'm disappointed that the Seattle library system doesn't have any books by this author- it may be the beginning of an expensive new habit.

I hope you enjoy it - like Adele Nicci Gerrard is one of my favourite authors, solo, or with her husband.

I have only read a couple of Nikki French novels, but enjoyed them. This one as solo writer has now gone on my list ...
Happy Chirstmas to all Cornflowerers!

Both Nicci French and Nicci Gerrard are bestselling authors in The Netherlands. I've read all of them. The Winter House is my favourite Nicci Gerrard.
