"It's such an absorbing book, it's got diamond mines of references, it's so compassionate, so tender, so moving, so funny - and most of us never know that, because most of us have long been daunted by it. No need to be afraid any more ..."
So says Frank Delaney about Joyce's Ulysses, and if you haven't already read it (unlike Dovegrey & Co. who can now proudly claim they have), you may like to discover the book through Frank's highly authoritative, short but spirited podcasts!
Wonderful, his lovely voice makes me want to jump in and tackle it ... I'd say 'again' because I did read almost all of it when I was a student, undaunted by length in those days! and in fact, I can't remember why I gave up so near the end. I must have been far too young because I don't remember anything about the book, except that I felt very pleased with myself. Dovegrey had the right idea, breaking it down into manageable chunks.

His voice is wonderful! (I used to enjoy him on television in the days when there were such things as arts programmes - radio, too).
