It would be nice to think that Penguin had read this post of mine and taken my hint there, but I doubt that's the case! Whatever the prompting behind it, I'm so glad to see that they have now brought back into print Robertson Davies' wonderful novel The Cunning Man. To find out more about the book click here, and to read our thoughts on his Fifth Business have a look here. I have just begun the first part of Davies' The Cornish Trilogy, and it's a pleasure to hear that distinctive authorial voice again.
I'm pleased to hear about the republication of The Cunning Man. I read and loved Davies back in the 1980s and often think I'd like to read more of his books. There's something very different about them. It's sad that more people haven't read him.

A friend recommended Davies to me, and I'm so glad he did because you're right about the books being different and distinctive. I'm thoroughly enjoying The Rebel Angels so far.
