If you read this post of three weeks ago, you'll know that I found The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller quite breathtaking.
Madeline is currently on tour, and happily for us she is coming to Edinburgh where she will be reading at the George Street branch of Waterstone's tomorrow evening (the 14th.) at 6.30 - details here - so go and hear her if you can. London readers can meet her on Thursday, 15th. September at Clerkenwell Tales, Exmouth Market (very handy for the scrumptious Moro!).
I've been to Moro four times now and it has been excellent on every occasion. Don't forget Morito either!

The Song of Achilles is written in a very accessible style and its story is told persuasively and so well that I was quickly hooked. The characters are credible and this work is now my definitive 'history' of this uncertain era. (yes this includes the divinities!).
I'm sorry to miss the chance to see Madeline Miller - especially to ask her about the ... uhm ... well I better not say too much!
It's a great book. There are some spirits here that will love it.
