If you've been over to the other site this morning you'll have seen that I'm not at home. I'm in the area of northern England believed to be Tolkien's inspiration for The Shire, and I can certainly attest to the quality of the food, but what of 'Hobbit reading matter'? Here are the books on my bedroom shelves -
There's a Dictionary of Medicine, a Cyclopedia of Practical Quotations, among others of that ilk, some recent-ish novels,
Who's Who 1957, and various 'dusty' things such as the ones above. For now, I'm sticking with The Secret History (I'm still only half way!).
I would pick up the copy of The Believers. It has been on my TBR for a while now.
We have shelves like this in the break room at my work. Most of it is paperback/genre (thriller, SF and romance) but my co-workers do bring the occasional gem (a hard copy of Kate Atkinson's "Started Early, Took My Dog" - PRICELESS!) which I snap up and exchange for something on my shelves that I no longer want.
