As if we didn't have enough to do just now, how about a meme? You know the form, just complete the sentences using the titles of books you've read this year:
My Day in Books
I began the day with Breakfast at the Hotel Déjà Vu.
On my way to work I saw Ophelia in Pieces
and walked by The Paper Garden
to avoid The Matchmaker of Kenmare
but I made sure to stop at 18 Bookshops.
In the office, my boss said, "Who is Mr. Satoshi?"
and sent me to research Unusual Uses for Olive Oil.
At lunch with Ella Minnow Pea
I noticed The Snow Child
under The Cold Eye of Heaven
then went back to my desk At the Chime of a City Clock.
Later, on the journey home, I bought A red herring without mustard
because I have A Morbid Taste for Bones,
then settling down for the evening, I picked up The Lantern
and studied The lost and forgotten languages of Shanghai
before saying goodnight to Half of the Human Race.
Please do have a go if you feel inclined, and let us know by way of a comment so that we can all come and see the titles you've used.
Ooohh -- I must have a go!

What a charming meme! I had a go, but with a small variation--I restricted the books to those I'd reviewed on my blog. Here's my post: http://niranjana.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/day-in-books/

Must've been a temporary glitch. Anyway, thank you for inventing a very enjoyable meme! Looking forward to more such "silliness".

Hello - what a wonderful meme. I had such fun making mine. Thank you.
Posted by: Joan Hunter Dunn | 18 December 2011 at 08:55 PM
Another non-blogger here. I took the liberty of modifying the first line slightly, because I couldn't resist the temptation to use that title.
As the day began, I Started Early, Took My Dog.
On my way to work I saw Charles Jessold, Considered As a Murderer
and walked by Caleb's Crossing
to avoid A Death in Summer
but I made sure to stop at A Palace in the Old Village.
In the office, my boss said, "My Dear I Wanted to Tell You"
and sent me to research Rules of Civility.
At lunch with Clara and Mr. Tiffany
I noticed Poor Caroline
under The Cat's Table,
then went back to my desk On Canaan's Side.
Later, on the journey home, I bought All Our Worldly Goods
because I have My Father's Fortune,
then settling down for the evening, I picked up Ghost Light
and studied An Atlas of Impossible Longing
before saying goodnight to The Stranger's Child.
