- To covet: for sale - houses with literary connections.
- To be admired: the Penguin English Library (also to be found here).
- To ban: words! Which would you outlaw?
- To be judged: the shortlist for the 2012 Walter Scott Prize for historical fiction.
- To watch: in case you missed it before, and specially for Freda, the short video Birth of a Book.
Impacted!! How impact ever started being used as a verb totally escapes me. It does not take any more effort to say something has an impact on something else, no need to say something impacts something else. It's everywhere - newspapers, television, radio, etc.
I'm behind in reading and trying to catch up - off to check in on the houses now.

What I love about reading blogs is the different directions they take you in which books to read. I've mentioned on Cornflower books about visiting Eudora Welty's family home: which I feel gives a real insight to her writing.
I lived in Lyme Regis many years ago but I can't recall seeing 'Belmont House'. I'm sure I must have done, because I loved all the older properties and spent many hours just walking around the town to look at the lovely houses.
