Many thanks to Rose for alerting me to what looks like a superb event taking place at Southwark Cathedral, London on 3rd. December: Neil MacGregor, director of the British Museum, writer, speaker, polymath and intellectual superpower (you can tell I am a fan), will be giving an illustrated talk in what is believed to have been Shakespeare's parish church about the dynamic and dangerous world the playwright knew.
Full details and tickets are to be found here.
For anyone unable to attend, Neil MacGregor's book Shakespeare's Restless World is now out, the Radio 4 series it accompanies is available as podcasts or on CD
, and the exhibition Shakespeare: Staging the World is on at the British Museum until 25th. November.
