Those of us with Kindles are doing well on the bargains front just now as yet more excellent novels are being offered (temporarily) at very low prices. The latest of these I've spotted is Kate Atkinson's Life After Life, which I loved unreservedly; I covered it in this post on the author's Edinburgh International Book Festival appearance, and while I know it has perplexed some readers, I do think it's a tour de force.
Edited to add: the temporary offer has now closed.
This may be just a little cheeky ... but SPEAKING of LOVE is available for .99p at the moment ... http://ow.ly/qSWBG in case it interests you ... . And I've got LIFE AFTER LIFE on my kindle and your review makes me want to get to it quickly. So I will.

Yet again I agree with you entirely! I thought Life After Life was marvellous.

I agree entirely about Life after Life. Delighted to see Kate A is on the Specsavers Writer of the Year Award shortlist. She'd better win. She'd better also go on to win the Costa ...I have not forgiven this year's Booker panel for not even longlisting Life After Life. Pah! is what I have to say to them!

Thanks so much for this - I bought several including William Nicholson's Motherland - all for 99p each.

I thought that Life After Life was dazzling. Exceptional control of an ambitious plot device.

Speaking of the Specsavers awards, I see 'someone not a million miles from you' is up for the Crime Book of the Year. Best of luck to Sophie!

Great minds, Victoria.

Excellent. Hope you enjoy them, Carol.

I agree, Alice, it is ambitious, but she pulls it off beautifully.

Thank you but how do you find these special deals? Do they just pop up somewhere?

Very pleased to have got this at the bargain price. I see it has gone up again now. Please keep letting us know about these bargains - I treated myself to three books as this was such good value.

Usually just by chance, Claire! Apart from the Kindle Daily Deal email to which I subscribe (see the link on the Kindle books homepage), I usually come upon the promotions through general browsing, or via Twitter if someone tweets news of that kind.

Glad to be of help, Ann.
