Apologies for the quality of the pictures, but they were taken as surreptitiously as possible across a crowded room.
This is The Morse Bar in Oxford's Randolph Hotel, dedicated to Inspector Morse, and to his creator Colin Dexter whose portrait you see above.
I'm sorry John Thaw isn't clearer, but these are some of the photographs of him which decorate the walls of the bar, and below is the special Morse cocktails menu with drinks devised by the staff in tribute to our hero. As it was 4pm when I was there, all I had was a tomato juice, but I suspect the man himself would have preferred a pint of beer.
