Many thanks to everyone who has mentioned that The Warden - our CBG March book - is to be dramatised on BBC Radio 4 beginning this coming Sunday (the 26th.) at 3.00pm. The rest of the Barchester Chronicles are to follow.
For those interested in Trollope himself, tomorrow - Thursday - at 11.30am. you can hear a programme about him made by Michael Symmons Roberts who has adapted the novels for this new series (and is the recent winner of the Costa Poetry Prize).
Thanks for flagging this. I will make a point of listening to them. I was in the library today and put a request in for both the February and March books. Having trawled around friends and family I find no one has either them!

Didn't his childhood sound miserable?
I loved the point made at the end, that there is a memorial to him on every street, i.e. the pillar box!

Does anybody know if it's possible to buy a copy of Michael Symmons Roberts adaptation? I know the Barsetshire Chronicles inside out having studied them for my dissertation and this was the best adaptation that I have heard of The Warden, absolutely wonderful - Septimus Harding is one of my favourite characters ever.
I haven't got to listen to the programme about Trollope's life yet but for a time he dealt with postal complaints and travelled far and wide to visit people to deal with some complaints in person - he used to write his novels on the train whilst he was travelling.

He was remarkable!
Can't help you re. the adaptation, I'm afraid, but if I come across anything I'll post about it.
