Following on from last month's Elizabeth Goudge post, her children's novel The Runaways

Geranium Cat, meanwhile, calls it "an enchanting book", and it was on the strength of her review that I have bought it.

I'd had it on my wish list ever since I read Geranium Cat's lovely piece, so I snapped it up this morning when I saw it was such a bargain.

Oh I do hope you enjoy it. I have recently reread it and loved it all over again. Any book that has a character called Moses Glory Glory Alleluja gets my vote!

My first comment here: I'm an avid and prolific reader especially of literary writing. Elizabeth Goudge has been my go-to-for-comfort author since I was a child. Her writing seems to have a rhythm that truly lulls (me). I've loved finding second hand copies as an adult. Now since retiring and discovering the joys of book hunting on the net I'm turning into a completist. How does she read on a kindle I wonder?
