Faber have recently published an edition of Walter de la Mare's poem Snow illustrated by Carolina Rabei. I haven't seen the book, but the trailer is delightful enough to make me seek it out.

This might just be this year's Christmas book! Thank you. (I am such a sucker for anything snowy...)

Me too!

I can confirm that the book is lovely! The Book People had it for a very reasonable price so I couldn't resist adding it to Nonna's seasonal bookshelf along with Shirley Hughes' lovely Alfie's Christmas. Now all I need is for someone to re-issue her Lucy & Tom's Christmas (my copy is nearly 30 years old and well read to the point of fragility) and I will be very happy indeed.
BTW the same source also has the new edition of Dylan Thomas's 'A Child's Christmas in Wales' for the sort of price that made it irresistable (to me anyway)

The last scene looks so much like Vulpera where we go each winter, it's uncanny…!
I will definitely look out for this book for my grandchildren (my latest excuse) :)

Their prices are very good, and I'm so glad to hear the book is lovely!

It looks as though it will delight any age (i.e. no excuse needed)!

Walter de la Mare has been a favorite poet of mine since high school. Snow, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be available in the US, but I just ordered two copies from The Book Depository for my grandnieces. I hope they'll like this introduction to de la Mare.
