A quick scan of this month's special offers for Kindle has turned up a couple of books I can recommend.
The Kashmir Shawl by Rosie Thomas was a favourite of mine back in 2011: "a beguiling book and a thoroughly good read" was my summing up then. There's a post on it here.
Mentioned in passing quite a while ago was Monty and Sarah Don's The Jewel Garden, an account of the creation of a garden, and a lot more besides; well worth reading.
I own the Kashmir Shawl and like to read it at least once a year; it is one of those books that will never leave me.
I gave The Jewel Garden to my daughter, after I had speed-read it. Frankly, anything by Mr Don is good, in my eyes. It seems that we are in accord.

Loved the Kashmir Shawl, must try some of her other books.
Monty Don always seems to have more hours in his day than normal folk!

He does, doesn't he? I know he has help with the garden, but even so ....

Sadly, The Kashmir Shawl sale wasn't available on Kindle in US. But, it is avaialble at a local library, so will have to pick it up one of these days.

Before I pop over to Amazon must say how much I enjoy Rosie Thomas. Along with Victoria Hissop I love her novels as they both so obviously research well.
