I hope you can access these if you don't take the paper, but yesterday's Financial Times had a couple of interesting book-related articles: Erica Wagner on the (Man) Booker Prize, and Edwin Heathcote's piece Tome Management which includes the good line, "Books are the structure of the life of the mind."
Meanwhile here's Tracy Chevalier on titles, (and her forthcoming novel sounds very promising indeed).
Tracy Chevalier's upcoming novel does sound very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

FT - I can access this from work but only after 30 day delay so I may not remember.

I don't know how the access thing works: having read the articles in the paper paper, I googled the first one and got the whole thing online. From there I searched for the second one and couldn't access it, but coming out and googling it directly I got it!

Even with googling, I can't access the FT articles as they link back to needing a subscription, but I did enjoy Tracy Chevalier's piece on coming up with titles. Looking forward to reading her upcoming book.

Mystifying, Mary: I've just searched for 'FT Erica Wagner' and the story appeared second in the list. Clicking through gives me an option to sign in or subscribe, but without doing either I can still access the piece - very odd!

I found it about third or fourth on Google, no options, straight in! I enjoyed reading it and agreed with the conclusion. Thanks for recommending it.

Glad you were able to get it, Claire.

Definitely one for the list, loved her blog post on titles. Best to Mr C, hope he is improving daily.
