... to Topping & Company this morning, and with fewer customers than on Sunday there was more space to browse (and have coffee by the window in 'Fiction', should you choose).
The range of the stock is astonishingly large and good so choosing is hard, but I came away with these two.
I've read both authors ages ago.Never could find the latest Sue Gee after that. I know they both would be very good. Enjoy the books.

That looks like such a lovely bookshop. I really enjoyed 'The Hours of the Night'. I think you will too.

What a great bookshop, to have such a good range of backlist titles. I loved both of these, I hope you do too.

What treats you found! I loved "Giving up the Ghost" and, as I know you loved "Trio", I am sure you will love this too. I read it many years ago and it has stayed with me.

I enjoyed Giving up the Ghost a lot. She is such a clever writer. I live near Hadfield, Derbyshire where she starts her remarkable story and when she won the Booker prize I think the local paper had one of those hilarious headings “ Local author wins the Booker”. Hadfield was satirised in The League of Gentlemen television series. In fact I think it may have been its finest moment. The moors are lovely though and I have grown very attached to Kinder Scout and its companions.xxx
