Knowing I share my birthday with Beatrix Potter and Gerard Manley Hopkins has always brought me joy.
Off to explore Always Take Notes- sounds another interesting listen.

Belated happy birthday, Fran, and yes, those are great people with whom to share the day! There’s lots of interest on Always Take Notes, e.g. I’ve just listened to their William Boyd interview.

I went to the Potter exhibit in June and enjoyed it but even better was a talk the next day by the curator. It was fascinating to hear about the way she organized the exhibit, the determination to focus on Potter's connection to nature and her upbringing, and the museums/collections that were unwilling to lend items. It was definitely an exhibit for adult fans. I am not even a huge fan but found the historical aspect fascinating.
