Two extremely popular novels I'm late to come to:-
I've just finished Miss Austen by Gill Hornby, a very enjoyable imagining of Jane Austen's beloved sister Cassandra in later life, and an explanation of why she destroyed so many of Jane's letters;
I'm currently reading Small Pleasures by Clare Chambers, an intriguing story set in 1957, full of period detail and thus far very engaging indeed.
I hope you've got something good to tuck into this weekend.
Loved Small Pleasures. Some of her earlier books are very enjoyable,too.

Thanks, Nicola, I have a feeling I read one ages ago. So enjoying Small Pleasures.

At the weekend I finished In Evil Hour by Gabriel García Márquez. I think it was his first novel. I recommend it, I found it more approachable than Love in the Time of Cholera.

I'm reading The Seeker (SG MacLean) on the strength of your recommendation a while back ...completely gripping!
