Books from Boots

    I've known for many years that Boots the chemist used to have very popular lending libraries in their shops, but I knew little more than that until I saw mention of them this morning and looked them up.

     This article gives a lot of fascinating detail: two classes of membership, personal service, Cary Grant!! I'm tempted to read Jackie Winter's book and discover the full story, but how times have changed!
